The Zurich Opera House entered the 2017/18 opera and theater season following an extensive technical renewal that included new audio equipment, audio consoles for modernization of its workflows, and fresh approaches to its sound reinforcement. The Lawo mc²66 mixing console that was previously installed in the sound control room has been replaced with an mc²56, with a second an mc²56 also installed in the auditorium – making the sound control desk and auditorium desk mirrored consoles. Operated in mirror mode, the configurations, snapshots and adjustments of parameters that are performed on one console can also be recalled at the other. This ensures efficient preparation of performances, particularly where Microport systems are increasingly being used. Managed in this way, musical and children's opera projects planned for the future will be easier to mix in the hall. Say Hi To Margie Singleton (AGAIN)! Margaret Louis Ebey  (born October 5, 1935), known professionally as  Margie Singleton , is an American country music singer and songwriter. In the 1960s, she was a popular duet and solo recording artist, working with country stars George Jones and Faron Young. Singleton had her biggest hit with Young called “Keeping Up With The Joneses” in 1964. She managed a successful solo career in the 1960s, recording 9 Top 40 Billboard Country singles, including a Top 5 hit. In addition to being a solo and duet star, she also sang as a back-up vocalist with  The Jordanaires . Numerous performers recorded many of her songs, including  Teresa Brewer ,  Tammy Wynette  and  Charley Pride . In 1964, Singleton teamed up with singer  Faron Young . Together they recorded the song “Keeping Up With The Joneses”. That year, the song reached the country top 5, and became Singleton’s biggest hit. As usual, I had found myself neck-deep in another fun project.  Three months have passed I’m asking myself why did I think this would be a good idea or for that matter “fun”?  Whenever I get excited about something I always think “I can do that!” eventually coming upon the cold reality that there is a reason everyone does not do technical things themselves on a whim.  None-the-less, I ventured into making my own bass guitar.  Not like the selecting and shaping wood version of “making” but the order all the parts I like on eBay, paint them up and slap-um together kind of “making”.  What could go wrong?  I bought a raw wood Fender(ish) Jazz Bass body and decided I would seal it, do some funky abstract art on it with acrylic paint and then put a thick luscious lacquer acrylic finish on it so shiny I could use it as a mirror over the studio bathroom sink (if I so chose to put in there).  Well… three wee
