For those who have not met Peoplewatch yet, they are an alternative rock band from Miami, FL. Their album“Sideways” released in 2016 is a dynamic display of powerful songwriting that represents personal growth, love, and sacrifice. This band captivates through songs that share a message of relatable truth about the human experience. Raised in an environment where Hispanic culture, 90s rock, and jazz became major influences; Peoplewatch is intense, fun, and stimulating.
Alex Diaz, the dynamic bassist of the band Peoplewatch, told me that his band’s album “Sideways” which was brought to my attention by a friend, and a fan of Peoplewatch. I have included some links to some more info on the band such as their website and social media accounts. We have also included a link to a video of them in the studio recording our most recent release. The Spotify link will take you directly to their new album entitled ‘Sideways’.
This month the band will be recording their next release which will be a four song EP. Alex has promised (and we are holding him to it) to share it with BackStageIndieReport.org when they first release it so BSIR subscribers will here it first thing.

In a world brimming with studio reference monitor companies, it can be difficult to separate true innovation from marketing gimmicks without really digging in deep.  Digging deep is what we at  Back Stage Indie Report  wanted to do because the  Shape 65 by Focal  has a plethora of new and different approaches to the audio loud speaker.  It all started when I asked several producers and engineers that I know through Back Stage Indie Report, what studio monitors I should look at for our studios?  Though our 15-year-old Mackie 824’s had served us well, it was time to upgrade to newer technologies.  I was surprised and heartened by how many responses came back with the same brand, “Focal”.  Ok… sooo there was a bit of consensus.  But, was this just the latest hype product?  You know how these things take off with the force of zeitgeist alone. …Fast forward 3 months.. .
