PAVLOV’S BELL IS RINGING OUT AND IT’S TIME FOR ALL TO PARTAKE! Who is Pavlov’s Bell? “ Pavlov’s Bell is an instrumental band. The music is a blend of experimental, jazz and psychedelic rock.” What is your story? “ The band was formed in 2015 by bassist and composer Antonio Pereira. Shortly after composing short ideas and having a rough idea of what the band should sound like, he recruited long time friend and former bandmate Jorge Fernandez to play guitar and help compose. Jorge’s jazz chops blended with Antonio’s psychedelic bass tones created the foundation of the bands sound. About three months later drummer Francisco Lujan joined the group. His progressive drumming style added another voice to the group, giving the compositions a strong backbone. The band recorded and played shows as a three piece until December 2016; when Santiago Suarez joined the group on the synthesizer.” Where are you guys from? “We’re from Miami” How has your location ...

Fall in Nashville If you’ve never spent the fall in Nashville, you may not be familiar with the absolute madness that is Americana Music Festival and Conference. For 5 days the city is going to host over 230 live performances at 40 different venues. The trouble with having that many shows in under a week is that you have to skip some. I’m excited to see household names like the Lumineers, and up and coming stars like Amanda Shires and The Drive By Truckers. There’s a handy tool in the iPhone app store called “AmericanaFest” that can help you schedule what shows you want to see on what day. I won’t like that I’ve been sort of overwhelmed trying to fit everything I want to see in. But then again, my most memorable experiences from last year were accidentally seeing a band I had never heard of and getting blown away.
