MEET THE SLOW READERS CLUB!
MEET THE SLOW READERS CLUB!

We have all had an experience that grabs our senses and never let’s go. Whether it is the smells of our favorite meal that makes our mouth salivates or the sight of a beauty of nature we cannot forget. The auditory equivalent of that experience is what you will find when you put on either of the first two records by the English Indie band The Slow Readers Club.
A mix of anthem driving rock and roll and deep rhythms mix with lyrics that tap right into the heart. Even though their last release was over a year ago, it still sounds a fresh as ever. Hailing from Manchester, England is tough for any new band as the list of alumni reads like a who’s who of Alternative/British Rock: New Order, Joy Division, James and The Stone Roses to name a few.
Joy Division comparisons aside the group’s electro indie sound on its second album Cavalcade does have an addictive quality and contains vocals that are both brooding and booming. In Manchester the group is a must see and after hearing them we certainly think there is room in America for their sounds. Listeners in the states could make a ‘Killers’ comparison but the band seems deeper than anything the Las Vegas band have ever shared. The sound is somber at times but strangely melodic; containing wickedly addictive hooks and chorus’s that will stick with you long after the record is complete.
